Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh,
"Our Lord has encompassed all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we have relied. Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision."
Dear Parents, Students and Muslim Community Members of RI,
I am honored to be able to take this opportunity to share my excitement about joining the leadership team of the Islamic School of Rhode Island (ISRI). I am looking forward to building a positive relationship with all the stakeholders of ISRI: students, staff, parents and community members. It is on top of my priorities to continue and extend the mission of ISRI to establish the foundation of the comprehensive character of our students to be ready for the unknown future. Students' leadership is a main standard of ISRI's strategic plan for the coming three academic years in shaa' Allah. The plan states 3 clear priorities: Islamic Values, National Ethics and Quality Education to help establish the Muslim American leaders for the future. ISRI's leadership strives to provide a very welcoming, safe, warm educational environment. Islamic values and discipline will be embedded in our students' daily practices and behavior as well as daily instruction. In addition, the school plans to offer personalized instruction in a variety of skills.
ISRI's staff are dedicated and committed to the mission of the school. They are fully aware of their role to develop the students' personality emotionally, physically and educationally. All curricula is being revised and developed according to 21st century standards and national goals. Core subject teachers will start implementing the Common Core Sate Standards this year in shaa' Allah. At the same time, Qur'an, Islamic Studies, and Arabic teachers will develop new standards for teaching the QIA. I assure that every staff member at ISRI does his/her best to satisfy Allah and achieve the school's mission. I would like to say: "I am blessed to work with such teaching staff."
In addition to the strategic long plan, ISRI has a short term plan to improve itself. The plan includes starting the first year of high school at ISRI next academic year 2015:2016 in shaa' Allah. We promise our community to do our best to make this class physically exist by the next semester of the current year. Safety is a major component of the short term plan. We believe that education cannot be successful unless the environment, where it takes place, is safe, healthy and clean. We will create an environment where students, teachers and parents feel proud and excited as soon as they walk through ISRI's doors. The short plan also pays a great attention to parent involvement so that we will establish a strong active Parent Teacher
Organization (PTO). As partners in the education of ISRI students, I welcome your input. Wonderful things are happening at ISRI and I am proud to invite you always to visit and advise me or even criticize. The school will implement an open door policy for every community member whether your child is among ISRI students or not. You are more than welcome to email me, arrange with the front office staff for a visit, or submit your suggestions in the suggestion box in the school lobby.
I would like to say that our commitment to our students is absolute. So, ISRI strategic plan classifies the value "Integrity" as the first among seven values. We define it as "please Allah by doing the right thing no matter what the circumstances may be". This meaning of integrity extends to the idea of doing everything only for the good of our students.
Finally, on behalf of ISRI family, I would like to welcome our dear students back to ISRI as well as our respected parents. I ask Allah (SWT) to give our students the success and guidance to satisfy Allah, their parents, teachers and their "Ummah". We can never accomplish our goals without Allah's guidance and help. Then, we are in bad need of your sincere participation and support. So, I beg you to keep us in your prayers. Please, feel free to contact me through my email: email@example.com. You can also call the front office on (401) 821-8700 or send a fax to (401) 821-8701.
Say, "In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate."
Jazakum Allah Khaira
